Privacy Policy
Effective date: 3 October 2026
1. Introduction
Speeq Learn ("we", "our", or "us") provides a mobile and web application that helps users learn foreign-language vocabulary through flashcards, writing practice, sentence building, and an AI tutor. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. By using Speeq Learn you agree to the practices described here.
Speeq Learn is operated by AMK Adrian Kiec.
2. Information We Collect
When you create an account we collect your email address, your chosen display name (optional), and an encrypted password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive a stable user identifier and your email address from the provider.
While you use the app we store: the native and target languages you select, your vocabulary progress (which words and sentences you've practiced, how often, accuracy), your learning sessions (timestamps, mode, results), your daily activity totals, your notification preferences, and the messages you send to the AI tutor during a chat session.
To keep the app stable we also receive crash reports and performance diagnostics (device model, OS version, app version and the technical details of the error) via Sentry. These reports do not include your email address or name.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to: authenticate you, sync your progress across devices, generate the statistics you see on your dashboard, personalise the words and exercises the AI tutor recommends, send local reminder notifications when you opt in, and improve the product (in aggregate). We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.
4. AI Chat Feature
Speeq Learn's chat tutor is powered by the Anthropic Claude API (model Claude Haiku 4.5). When you send a message, the text of that message — together with the list of words you have already learned — is forwarded to Anthropic so the model can generate a reply. Anthropic processes the message under its own terms and does not retain it to train its models. We do not send your email address, password, or other account identifiers to Anthropic.
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We share data only with the following processors:
- Supabase Inc. — authentication, database, edge functions, file storage.
- Anthropic, PBC — AI chat completions (see section 4).
- Google LLC — text-to-speech. When you tap a word, phrase or sentence to hear it, that text is sent to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech to generate the audio. No account identifiers are sent with it.
- Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) — crash reports and performance diagnostics (see section 2).
- Apple Inc. and Google LLC — when you choose 'Sign in with Apple' or 'Sign in with Google', authentication is delegated to them.
Reminder notifications are scheduled on your device and do not pass through any third-party service.
We never sell or rent your personal data. We may disclose data when legally required (e.g. court order) or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your account data, vocabulary progress, and sessions are stored on Supabase servers located in the European Union (Frankfurt region). Connections are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+). Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (bcrypt). API keys for paid services are never stored on your device.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account and progress data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account from Profile → Delete Account, we erase your authentication record, profile, vocabulary progress, learning sessions, and notification preferences within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate statistics may be retained for product analytics.
8. Your Rights (GDPR & Similar)
If you reside in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you have the right to: access the data we hold about you, correct it, request its deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, and receive a portable copy. You can exercise the access/deletion rights directly from the app (Profile → Delete Account) or by writing to us at the address in section 11. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority — in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
9. Children's Privacy
Speeq Learn is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of Speeq Learn after a change means you accept the updated policy.
11. Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints about this policy can be sent to support@speeqlearn.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
